RFP for Goldbelt Chilkat Blanket

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - GOLDBELT CHILKAT BLANKET

INTRODUCTION

This Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks an original Chilkat blanket/robe creation for the exclusive use of Goldbelt, Inc. (Goldbelt) to commemorate Goldbelt’s 50 years and beyond. The blanket/robe design will be used for the 50th Annual Report and related materials. The design should represent Goldbelt, its mission and vision, Tlingit values, Goldbelt shareholders, and future generations. This project is currently open for bids, with the commission payment capped at $150,000, covering all materials. However, we want to emphasize that all proposals are highly encouraged and will be warmly welcomed. We value the diverse perspectives and creative ideas of our subject matter experts.

While the deadline for the completion of the blanket/robe is initially set for February 1, 2025, we are open to negotiating this timeline based on the proposals received. A Goldbelt-identified photographer will photograph the progress and design of the blanket.

PREFERENCE

  • Preference will be given to Goldbelt shareholders.
  • Weaving mentor-apprentice inclusion encouraged.

BLANKET REQUIREMENTS

  • Sign an Exclusive Usage Agreement allowing Goldbelt to own and use the art per guidelines.
  • Initially Proposed Completed Date: February 1, 2025 (Open to negotiation based on proposals received)

TIMELINE FOR PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS

  • RFP is distributed, 30-day Response                    Feb 9, 2024

Five payment installments are based on a project proposal and agreed-upon design completion timeline:

  1. Initial payment for materials and labor
  2. 25%
  3. 50%
  4. 75%
  5. 100% 

SELECTION PROCESS

Management is forming a selection committee with three management team members and two at-large members, one Eagle and one Raven Elder from the community. Management will safeguard against any conflicts of interest.
