For generations, Alaska Native people have protected our way of life by using our voice to share stories, to lead, and help our people understand collective responsibility. Voting is one more way to use our voice—not for one person, party, or candidate, but for our communities, our rights, our resources, our languages, our children, and future generations.

Every election moves our communities in some direction that reaches all our homes, schools, health care, fisheries, lands, jobs, housing, public safety and services our families rely on. When Native people vote, we honor those who made this right possible and ensure decisionmakers cannot overlook us. Voting moves our communities forward.

Goldbelt encourages shareholders, families and community members in Juneau to make a plan to have their voices heard and to consider how candidates and ballot measures align with Goldbelt initiatives and values, including strong communities, responsible stewardship and opportunities for future generations

Important Dates

• October 4:  Voter Registration Deadline

• October 19:  Early and absentee in-person voting begins
• November 3: Election Day
